Sydney, the state capital of New South Wales is Australia’s oldest and most populated city (5.3 million inhabitants). It was named after Lord Sydney, the British Minister of Interior at the time of its settlement, in 1788. The city’s location, around Port Jackson Bay, makes it the world’s largest natural harbour.

The weather in Sydney

Sydney’s weather is pleasant. The summers are warm and partly cloudy, with average temperatures of 23°C, and the winters are short and mostly clear, with average temperatures of 13°C.

The warm season goes from November to March and the cool season only lasts 2.8 months, from May to August.
