I'm inviting all international students to come here to Queensland. It's a totally great experience and you should totally come.
I came here as an international student and in high school they offer the marine science and course and a lot of field trips with it.
Being here by yourself is quite humbling. You get to know a lot of people from different backgrounds.
You get to learn new skill sets, how to approach them, communicate.
I have learnt, that to be very appreciative of the people I have in the moment and the place where I am. And to be very acceptance of everything that comes happily!
I have been able to continue my studies here in Queensland.
which, I wanted too.
I got into the Bachelor of Science degree.
Luis: ‘The IB helps me to prepare for the international world……it helps you to have a more international mindset, it opens up many possibilities and looks better when you are applying to universities as well.’
Jorge: ‘Studying in another place outside Mexico is something that makes the IB so special from other types of programs. Even if I finish it in Mexico or in another place it will have the same recognition everywhere, so my high school study is valid in all countries, especially in Europe.’
I wasn't very scared about traveling Queensland alone because I knew that I would have a group with me that is also going through the same stuff with me. Studying in Queensland has definitely helped me with understanding that I have a lot of more opportunities and I think it's going to be very helpful on my way to my career.
I've been visiting quite a lot of places in Queensland like Noosa, Mooloolaba, Tangalooma and Stradbroke Island. I've also been to the Whitsundays, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef which was amazing, and we also have Brisbane, and the Gold Coast so you have quite a bit of everything here in Queensland.
To new international students come in Australia I would say just do; it it's lovely here you get the beaches you get the new friends you get to speak English a lot more which can help you with further studies and career so it's definitely worth it.
I study in Queensland because the weather is nice here. I’m near the beach and the people are so awesome here.
The support at Coolum State High School is really good. In the classroom I get asked if I need help and I get more time to do homework. Also, the international staff are really good; I can contact them if I need help.
I am not missing home too much because it is super here; it is great. At school, the support is fantastic and they help you with everything and it’s not really difficult at all. It’s just awesome.
I'm studying at Merrimack State High School at the Gold Coast.
Making friends at Merrimack State High School at the beginning was a little bit hard because everyone is like shy and you are different from everyone, but at the end it was so nice, I got to know so many people.
The most Aussie experience that I enjoyed the most was probably the barbecues it was awesome because we get to know how they cook because it's so different.
At the beach they have the the place that you do barbies with your friends there it's so nice.
When i go back to Brazil i want to study law and become a judge.
When you live in another country you grow as a person you change a lot because you give values about other things in life, family, friends, everything because you change a lot.
