Master of Nursing Practice
Change to a nursing career, and gain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. The course consists of four semesters plus a summer term coursework program. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to integrate evidence-based theory and clinical practice. Theory content is comprehensive and includes physical, biological, psychological and social sciences. Professional practice experience is integrated into the course. Overall, you will be required to complete 216 hours of simulated experience and 840 hours of professional practice experience in an appropriate workplace.
Master of Science (Food Science and Technology)
The courses provide professional training to those employed in the food industry and those in science fields such as agriculture, nutrition, engineering, environmental health and consumer science. This course extends the learning of the graduate diploma to incorporate an independent research project under the guidance of an experienced supervisor. To ensure you are ready to undertake this project you will be introduced to scientific research methods and learn to measure, interpret and describe the data effectively.
Master of Science (Minerals and Energy Economics)
Our teaching programs are offered in a flexible way to cater for fly-in-fly-out workers and busy mid-career resource sector professionals wanting to balance work and study. They are designed to help these professionals move into senior management or decision-making roles. This course will provide you with a thorough foundation in resource sector management and general business theories. You will complete coursework units on economic, financial and management issues. You can choose the Mineral Economics major or the Energy Economics major.
Master of Supply Chain Management (Professional)
This one-year course is designed for logistics and supply chain specialists. Key areas of study include logistics, operations and supply chain management; transportation and physical distribution; procurement; production; warehousing and inventory. As part of the course, you can pursue an advanced research project in areas such as emerging technologies, e-commerce, sustainability, digitalisation, disaster responses, public procurement and the circular economy, among others. You can also apply for internship placements in supply chain to gain further industry skills.
Master of Engineering Management
Combine your engineering knowledge with management skills, and learn optimal ways to lead teams of engineering specialists. This course provides a balance between engineering and business skills. It is jointly taught by staff from the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Business and Law. The format of the course has kept up with industry needs and trends since its inception, and the coursework is relevant to all engineering disciplines. It integrates the functions and skills needed by engineers in management, and successful completion prepares you for high-level leadership in engineering and technology companies across Australia and around the world.
Master of Predictive Analytics
The Master of Predictive Analytics addresses the growing demand for data scientists who have the right blend of technical and analytical skills to meet the challenge of big data analytics. It is currently the only master degree course in predictive analytics in Australia. It is a multidisciplinary degree, in which you can choose from four majors to learn about specific application domains. It introduces advanced skills in data management, mining and visualisation, decision methods and predictive analytics, with a focus on their applications to different disciplines, such as engineering, networking, business and finance. You will have opportunities to work on industry-sponsored projects, and participate in Curtin partnerships through Innovation Central Perth and the Curtin Institute for Computation.
Bachelor of Innovation
During your studies you will learn innovation strategies and how to innovate ethically, engage globally, and use technology decisively to deliver solutions with positive social and industry impacts. You’ll learn how to apply critical business knowledge, creative thinking and innovation skills to the discipline of your choice. You’ll also have transformative experiences such as regional and international study tours, hackathons, internships and other work-integrated learning opportunities. Additionally, as an Innovation student you can join the Curtin Ignition and Curtin Accelerate entrepreneurship programs, and access executive education masterclasses that are designed to help you set up your own enterprise.
