The whole four years of my finance academic journey wasn’t easy, but it taught me how to persevere, how to excel in your studies.
My job is to study markets in Africa and Asia, and many thought I would struggle learning how to use the financial software or using financial data, but I didn’t. I was good to go and it’s all because of this learning from my Curtin journey.
The education classes have helped us to think like teachers of tomorrow. We’ve had to really identify what positive experiences we wish to have in the classroom and what our career ambitions are. For example, I have learned much about the value of creativity and the integral role it plays in the psychology of a child.
I loved studying geology at Curtin. The equipment there is top notch. I completed two lots of vacation work during my course. Working at a gold mine gave me insight into the industry and grew my professional network. I also worked in an engineering geology consultancy and decided this would be my career after I graduate.
The course allowed me to develop academically and stretched me on a personal level, engaging and learning about challenging circumstances our world faces. The content of each subject was very relevant and each topic was covered in great detail ensuring that students gained the necessary skills to grow in confidence to discuss the issues.
