General English
Our General English courses will help you develop language skills for real life situations – like speaking and conversation. We will help you develop the confidence to live, travel or work in Australia. You will graduate with real-world English skills you can use anywhere. Courses are built around the four core skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course will focus on: building fluency and accuracy in spoken English expanding your vocabulary understanding native and non-native English speakers developing skills and confidence to use English outside the classroom. You will learn with experienced and qualified teachers in small classes. We will track your progress with regular testing. General English is available on the day and evening timetables; you can start studying any Monday.
Academic English
If you want to improve your English skills for further study in Australia, our Academic English courses can help you. Navitas English has more than 70 direct entry higher education partners. They include universities, colleges, Technical & Further Education (TAFE), Vocational Education & Training (VET) and Registered Training Organisations (RTO). Our courses have pathways to master’s, bachelor’s, diploma and certificate programs. If you successfully complete Academic English, you do NOT need to sit the IELTS test to prove your English language proficiency to our direct entry partners (provided you meet all the other course requirements). If you complete the Academic English course successfully, you will be able to use English in a variety of academic contexts and take responsibility for your progress with little support from teachers.
Cambridge Preparation
If you want to sit a Cambridge English test, our Cambridge English test preparation courses will give you the skills you need to succeed. Cambridge English language tests are recognised and respected by companies, governments and universities around the world. We run courses at four levels of Cambridge Preparation: Cambridge Preparation - B1 Preliminary Cambridge Preparation - B2 First Cambridge Preparation - C1 Advanced Cambridge Preparation - C2 Proficiency Navitas Cambridge courses are closed courses. Each course has a start and finish date and runs for a set number of weeks. Courses are aligned to the test schedules set by Cambridge.
IELTS Preparation
If you want to study in Australia or get an Australian visa, you might need to sit an IELTS test. The Navitas IELTS Preparation course will give you the skills you need to succeed. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is the main language. It is recognised by higher education providers, governments and employers all over the world. IELTS tests the four skills of language learning. You will develop skills in: listening: note-taking, listening for specific information speaking: expressing ideas and opinions, seeking clarification, pronunciation reading: speed reading strategies, understanding graphs and charts, analysing IELTS specimen papers writing: interpreting questions, organising content, grammatical accuracy.
