QUALITY OF LIFE? HOBART IS THE ANSWER

After Sydney, Hobart, founded in 1804 by Colonel David Collins, is the oldest city in Australia. The city’s stone buildings, built in the early years, have now been converted into cafes, art galleries, and restaurants. Located at the foot of Mount Wellington, with a population of 190,000 inhabitants, it has an incomparable quality of life and is more relaxed than other Australian cities.

Hobart is known worldwide for the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, which starts in Sydney the day after Christmas (Boxing Day). People celebrate the arrival of the boats in Hobart during the Taste of Tasmania Festival, a summer food festival that runs from the last week of December until the beginning of January.

YOUR NATURAL STATE

Both an island and a state, Lonely Planet considers Tasmania to be in the fourth position of the Top 10 regions to visit in the world. Its most dominant feature is Mount Wellington, which is 1,271 metres high. But that’s not all. The island holds several world records. It is widely known for having some of the cleanest air in the world.

You can find the highest flowering plant there, Eucalyptus regnans, which can reach 100 metres in height. And, if you are a golfing fan, Tasmania has 68 golf courses, more than any other state in the country.
