The Bachelor of Physiotherapy is for those who want to prevent injury and disability in others as well as rehabilitate those already injured. You will learn how to identify, assess and treat a range of conditions. As a graduate, you will have developed skills to work with everyone from children to the elderly, as well as deal with gender-specific issues. This physiotherapy course also offers students clinical placements during which they will be supervised by a clinical educator. During each placement students will develop and integrate knowledge, skills and professional behaviours in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Physiotherapy Council.
This unique degree is designed to develop an awareness of the broader context in which legal issues arise including the political, historical, philosophical and economic dimensions. The Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Global Studies also offers an international education, and you will be required to study abroad (ACU has over 60 partner institutions around the world) and/or do an internship that provides international work experience in your third year. You will also complete 80 hours of pro bono work (after your first year), providing you with firsthand experience of the legal system while allowing you to contribute to the common good.
The Master of Psychology (Clinical) degree at ACU is a two year postgraduate course consisting of academic coursework, practical training in assessment, diagnosis and intervention, and completion of a research project. Successful completion of the course allows registration as a general psychologist and upon completion of an additional period of supervised practice, for area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology with The Psychology Board of Australia.
Further your knowledge of the latest and most effective pedagogical practices and gain a greater understanding into recent research in this area. This degree asks you to analyse the challenges and changing demands of education in the context of social justice, equity and ethics so you can transform and improve the educational setting you work in. You’ll have the opportunity to complete a named specialisation, chosen from a number of areas, including Inclusive Practice, Integrated STEM, Mathematics, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification you can complete an additional sequence of units to meet the requirements of this degree.
The Master of Dietetic Practice is a 2-year full-time program. Dietetic Practice is the application of the science of food and nutrition across a range of domains to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities, and populations. The course combines theory and practice placement across dietetic practice areas including food and nutrition counselling with individuals, food and nutrition education and capacity building with groups, public health nutrition, food production and provision to individuals, communities and populations, entrepreneurial dietetic practice and management, and research.
The Foundation Studies Program provides a pathway to ACU undergraduate degrees for students who wish to study at university but do not have a recognised Year 12 qualification. If you are an international student, you can choose to study in Australia at the Melbourne or North Sydney campus or fully online live from outside of Australia. As a Foundation Studies student, you will be immersed in the distinctive culture of the university throughout the course. You will be provided with all resources for the program including textbooks, laboratory equipment and online resources. You will become familiar with ACU facilities, resources and systems and with the academic expectations and assessment models used in undergraduate degrees at ACU. Class sizes will be small and staffed to provide a highly supportive learning environment.
The ACU Allianz Care Scholarship provides a partial tuition fee scholarship for one undergraduate and one postgraduate meritorious commencing international students at ACU.
The Peter Faber Business School is global in its outlook and pursues academic excellence and sustainability. The Peter Faber Business School will be awarding scholarships up to AU$5000 per year to commencing students studying business and information technology programs.
The ACU International Student Accommodation Scholarship supports international students with the cost of living in ACU Student Accommodation. It provides a 20% remission of rental fees in ACU Student Accommodation properties for a 12-month period.
Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarships reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate International students who have demonstrated outstanding academic merit in prior studies.
