I chose to study my undergraduate degree at QUT based on the strength of its reputation in both teaching staff and graduate outcomes. I connected with my current employer, Stephens & Tozer, through QUT’s graduate employment register which is circulated for PLT students. I undertook my four week placement with the firm, and was offered a position after the conclusion of the placement period.
QUT’s business international degree offered so many unique learning experiences. I completed an exchange in France and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management from IESEG France as well as my QUT business degree. I now live in the Netherlands. I work with people from all over Europe, the USA and the United Arab Emirates, overcoming languages and cultural barriers―something that I was taught navigate as part of my business international degree.
QUT really is a university for the real world. The assignments and case studies part of the curriculum all related to real life scenarios and teaching us how to resolve them. For example, I worked on a medical project pertaining to market studies on 3D printed cardiovascular stents. Sustainability was one of the key aspects of our project as we had to provide a management solution to develop and bring to existence a sustainable, economical and functional stent. I worked with professors who were passionate too in bringing this technology to the market.
I loved that QUT provided me with the knowledge and skills that will benefit me in the real world. I enjoyed the work integrated learning units because I got to use my skills in a practical setting which gave me a better understanding of the industry.
