Certificate IV in Building and Construction

You will learn the skills and knowledge to work in the building and construction industry with particular focus on low rise buildings and light steel structures. The course includes learning about the BCA, codes and standards, estimating and site supervision. Throughout your studies you will be exposed to a wide range of building sites and structures currently under construction in the ACT, engage with key industry employers, visit building projects and liaise with a range of project managers and stakeholders across a broad range of ventures.

Diploma of Community Services

If you are looking for a versatile community qualification with an array of job opportunities and a possible path to university, then CIT’s Community Services qualifications offer a firm foundation in assessing and working with the needs of clients in a variety of settings. Develop your skills to provide a range of services, community education and interventions to clients at community based organisations, residential rehabilitation services or outreach services. Diploma of Nursing

CIT’s Diploma of Nursing is fully accredited by the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). This means, when you complete your studies at CIT, you will be eligible to apply for your Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration to become an Enrolled Nurse right away! I have just completed the Diploma in Building and Construction course and last year I completed the Diploma in Building and Construction Management. I am a civil engineer in my country, so this course seemed like a suitable complement to continue my studies here in Australia. The course offered by CIT was exactly what I was looking for. One of the most fascinating things I found while doing this course at CIT were the internships and site visits, which gives you a better idea of what you will encounter when you graduate and what you will face when you finish the course. You won't regret being here because CIT offers a very high quality education.

Advanced Diploma of Business

Initially I had only planned to complete my Certificates III and IV in Business Administration, but was encouraged by my teachers to continue studying. I am now also considering doing my degree! It's all about continuous improvement. I am very thankful to the teachers that encouraged me to do so as now I have great skills and a good education.

During my Diploma of Business Administration, we were required to complete work experience. I was lucky enough to work in the Department of Defence for a whole week, which was an unforgettable experience!

Being able to put all that I had learned into practical use was so rewarding after all the hard work. It really enhanced my drive to continue studying and motivated me to do even better.

I am already an accountant I got my degree in Colombia however the law about taxes and payroll is totally different for every country so the best way and also affordable way it was studying at the CIT. I have found in the group of my teachers they care about you it's not that relationship just in class this is also outside before the class and after the class.

Finding that support from the cit it was very particular and personal experience but also the cit has english department this is really good even if you are already enrolled in other courses they offer for example revision of homework or writing.

I like Canberra for a lot of reasons. I did a bit of research before coming here because my parents were a bit scared for me, but once you Google everything you find that Canberra is one the safest cities in the world, where the crime rate is really low. Also, Canberra has cheap accommodation compared to places like Sydney or Melbourne.

In Canberra, you still get to travel and enjoy the same things you would enjoy in any other city, but it is also the capital of Australia, which is a bonus point.

My advice to an international student would be, don’t be scared when you come here. Feel free to ask you questions because everyone is happy to help make your life easier.

I was thinking about doing a Masters, but I think this course satisfied what I was looking for, to improve my skills as a leader and that kind of thing.

Here you have people that are working in the environment and they can come here and share ideas and their experiences. For me that's a preferable option compared to university and going to lectures. That's the reason I picked CIT.

In class, I enjoyed being able to listen to all these stories and case studies involving real professionals in the field, and learning about topics like managing diversity. It was very practical. When I finish my course I can go to a company and say 'I know how to implement a diversity policy'.
