UoS Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (VCIS) 2026

The VCIS is a scholarship offered on commencement of a coursework degree (it is only awarded once during first year of commencement and not renewable for following years).

This scholarship is possible for all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework applicants and students need to hold an unconditional offer at the time of the rounds listed on the website for each intake in order to be ranked for consideration. No separate application is required for this scholarship

Five scholarship amounts are offered based on your ranking against the selection criteria:

  1. $60,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
  2. $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
  3. $20,000 payable for one semester
  4. $10,000 payable for one semester
  5. $5,000 payable for one semester

The availability of some amounts may be limited to specified cohorts.

*An offer round will be run for International Baccalaureate (IB) graduates after 16 December 2025 results are released and for international UAC students post the 23 December 2025 offer round.

Who’s eligible

You must:

  • be an international student
  • have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor’s degree or a coursework master’s degree that is a CRICOS registered award program usually delivered onshore at the University of Sydney
  • receive an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant close date.
